5Solid Bike Rack
By lan
An all-around good, sturdy bike rack. It's slightly less expensive than the other bike racks on amazon. The product comes with all the installation materials. As for the tools, only a screwdriver is necessary, but a wrench will makes things much easier. You won't need any specialized bicycle tools for this. It took me about 15 minutes to install the entire thing and it fits perfectly on my average-sized road bike. I can lift the entire bike(~25 lbs) by the rack without a hitch. I've yet to come across any problems. My one complaint is that the product does not come with any extra screws, which are easy to lose, so you'll have to be careful not to misplace any of them. Also, you can mount a reflector(not included) on the rear of the rack.

Note: Your bike should have small holes in the rear of the frame specifically for mounting racks or else installing it may be a pain. I think most frames have these holes, but you should check to be safe.

5Good inexpensive, light rack
By Kyle
This rack is very light which I prefer since I commute on buses and I have to lift the bike on and off the bike racks a lot. As the listing indicates, it's designed for bikes with a 700c wheel size. It was easy to install with the well written instructions, as the other reviewer mentioned, check that your bike has pre-drilled holes in the rear dropouts (where the rear wheel attaches). The instructions recommend not installing this rack if you don't have these holes, I expect most bikes do. My Schwinn Avenue had threads cut in these holes which fit the supplied screws. To attach the upper part of the rack, there is hardware provided not shown here consisting of two long metal straps to attach to the bike seat stays (the two small frame tubes that connect from the seat tube down to the rear dropouts). My bike didn't have eyelets on the stays but the kit includes clamps to slip over the stays (although they seemed too small of a diameter to fit easily over my stays). My stays also connect to the seat tube fairly low so I would have had to bend the straps considerably down to attach them. I instead opted to remove the pinch bolt that adjusts the seat height and thread it through the straps and this appeared to fit perfectly.

3Merely an Okay Rack. Nothing Spectacular.
By Matthew E. Coenen
Unlike a previous reviewer, mine did come with extra screws.

It's not a heavy duty rack by any means. For getting my bag to and from the office, it will suffice, but my work bag is not that heavy. If you're wanting a rack that will carry a lot of stuff (I.e., riding the trails all day or camping, etc.), this is not the rack for you.
