5Awesome replacement for a stem mounted smart phone holder. Storage just made it better.
By S. F.
I like using Strava when I go biking, to keep track of my stats, so I had originally purchased a hard plastic mount that fit on the stem of my bike. And it worked great...for a month. The plastic arm ended up snapping when I hit a rough patch of road, and sent my phone flying. Not cool. So I went searching for something I could feel comfortable putting my phone in, and was about to purchase a set of front frame panniers when I found this. This has the functionality of the stem mount with the added benefit of additional stability (no chance of it coming loose), AND I have extra storage! I already have a rear pouch with a spare tube, CO2, Gu, and a lock, but I would also fit keys, a slim wallet (little bigger than a money clip) and my garage door opener, so it ended up being a REALLY tight fit. With this bag, I no longer have the problem I never knew I had. All of my emergency gear and my lock fit in the rear bag, and everything I might use during the ride now fit in front (garage door opener, wallet, keys, TWO Gu packs, and even a travel size purell). An added benefit is that I now also have the added option of bringing along a charger for my phone, and can charge it while riding. Another problem I never knew of is solved. Pretty useful. It's been a little over two months since I have been using it, and don't really have any issues. I've gone riding a few times where it has started sprinkling, and yet another benefit is that I don't have to worry about my phone getting wet, since it is behind a layer of plastic. The stem mount left my phone open to the elements, so it was not ideal for wet weather. If your main purpose for this bag is storage, there are other bags that offer more space, and this bag would probably rate a solid 3.5 to a 4 for you (decent space and well padded), but that was just an added benefit for me. The fact that it lets me use my phone display effectively for Strava AND protects my phone well, automatically made it a 5 out of 5 for me. The added storage was just icing on the cake.

4Fully Functional With Strap Modifications
By Signetring54
Just received today to mount on my vintage UNIVEGA Hybrid. The bag looks like it has good construction and seam stitching. Upon opening the double zipper, I discovered two compartments, one in the cover and the other in the well area. The cover pouch for the phone has a wallet type opening with two padded flaps below the plastic cover. After the zipper has been opened, both flaps need to be opened and then closed to hold the smart phone. The padded flaps are kind of an overkill for protection since they are underneath the phone just above the well. The process of needing to remove the phone can be cumbersome if you need to remove it quickly. The straps are way way too long and you may have to do some modifications with them. The Velcro male an female sections will not line up correctly to provide an adequate fastening surface because of the length. A work around this would be to wrap straps around the attachment bars twice or some how modify the strap length to suit your individual mounting needs. The well compartment is large enough to place your wallet, keys and a couple of protein bars with room to spare. I would have given this bag five stars if the straps were shorter and if the plastic connectors had two slots instead of just one. With two, there would have been an extra layer security to fasten the straps on a return loop through. A better design would also have been to add an extra zipper on top of the bag to insert and remove the phone more quickly without having to go through the flap ordeal. I would have been willing to pay a couple of extra dollars for the additional zipper. Yes! I would buy this bag again even with its short comings. I will try and post some pics illustrating my unique mounting system.

1/11/12 Update: I have used for about a week now. I was able to insert the smart phone into the cover with ear buds and was able to zip both zippers to the top with a small opening to allow for the cord. It worked, but causes the phone to sit at slight angle in the case because of the height of the 3.5 mm connector. A blue tooth headset would eliminate this problem. Wrapping the front strap around the neck of the handlebars causes a slightly annoying rubbing sound when turning the front wheel. The bag has held in place without any shifting to the right or left. The well of the bag is a good place to store an extra bungee for rear rack, and riding gloves. I still think that it is a good purchase and I am thinking of giving these as inexpensive gifts to family members for next Christmas, along with my mounting suggestions.

4Nice bag but it gets in the way when you get off the seat
By joe goeke
I like the bag and the quality is pretty good for the price. however my big cell phone does not fit in the phone pocket but I didn't think it would (samsung note 2). The only issue is the bag is right in your way as you get off the seat to stand while on the bike...
